I think that the important idea in the story is that if you are in danger, dont just think about yourself but think of others. The gist is mostly about two dolls who end up in their owners school but take an adventure instead of going home. The theme of the story might be help others out.
Throughout the story these dolls have never been to school. For example Annabell has been in the family for 100 years and never been to school. This shows that she was always afraid that in school she would be seen.
Also in the story Annabell meets Tiffany who is now her best freind. For years it has been anabell and her family and everyone stayed in the house. This shows that over time many things change.
By the middle of the book they end up in the wron backpack and go to the wrong house. They meet mean mimi. They almost never got back but they helped the dolls stop mean mimi from destroying the house. From doll exposion.
They helped save all dollkind and hopefully it stays that way. This shows that helping is a very wonderful thing.
